Overview
Typically Wage Target Matrcies are generate using the Generate Wage Target Matrix application. Once generated they can be maintained using this application. Alternatively you can create a new matrix using this application although it is slower.
Operation
The application form consists of five initial fields; they are ID, Name, Average Wage Rate, minimum wage percentage and maximum wage percentage. Regardless of the form mode (New or Edit) the following applies.
A matrix will have a descriptive name and an Average Rate, which is the average hourly wage rate for this type of store. Note that this rate is not used by individual stores when calculating their targets. Instead each store will have a specific average hourly wage rate which may differ from this rate. This rate is used more as a memorandum of the likely rate stores of this type will have. It is also used to calculate the Sales Br/Pt column in the grid as the Roster Hrs Br/Pt and Wage % targets are entered.
The following table describes the form fields:-
Column | Description |
---|---|
ID | The ID field is automatically generated when the user clicks the ‘New’ button. |
Name | Give each matrix a meaningful name, for example Grade A, Grade B, Grade C etc. |
Average Wage Rate | The average hourly wage rate typical in stores who will be associated with this matrix. |
Minimum Wage Percentage | The minimum wage percentage is typically calculated from the wages as a percentage of sales using the maxumum roster hours break point. |
Maximum Wage Percentage | The maximum wage percentage is typically calculated from the wages as a percentage of sales using the minimum roster hours break point. |
Roster Hrs Br/Pt, Sales Br/Pt, Wage % | Each row in the grid represents the optimum roster hours for the specific sales target. The wage % is calculated using the average wage rate.. |
The wage matrix will be available to assign to stores using the Maintain Store Performance Attributes application.
